Returning to Work? Get Back in the Frame and apply to be part of this talent development programme!

It’s the final few days to apply for this brilliant opportunity – deadline is Thursday 9th July 2026, 10am.

Back in the Frame is a new 6 month return-to-work programme. It’s aimed at experienced women and marginalised gender directors and producers with professional credits in film and/or television, delivered by Reclaim The Frame with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The programme has been created for experienced filmmakers whose careers have been interrupted by caring responsibilities, health-related breaks, burnout or other life circumstances. Through industry insight, mentoring, coaching and peer learning, the programme is designed to help participants re-enter the industry with confidence, reconnect with their practice, rebuild professional networks and navigate today’s screen landscape.

Led by Melanie Iredale and Camilla Wren, the programme features coaching from Caroline Goyder and Valeria Bullo, alongside contributors from BBC Film, BFI London Film Festival, Cinemamas, Comscore, Film4, Fourth Culture Films, HanWay Films, Lee & Thompson, Quinzaine des Cineastes, Raising Films, ReelTime Media and The Small HR Company, with more speakers and mentors still to be announced.

The programme is:

  • free to apply for and free to participate in;
  • open to experienced directors and producers with professional credits in film and/or television;
  • supported by bursaries to help cover travel, accommodation, childcare, access requirements and other eligible costs.
