Some Devon Film Office familiars are on show as Devon’s creative heartbeat, which is louder than ever as homegrown filmmaking talent takes centre stage.
The upcoming South West Short Film Evening at the Exmouth Film Festival is set to be a dazzling showcase of the region’s sharpest visual storytellers.
Born out of the Exmouth Clips Club – a grass-roots group of friends meeting to dissect cinema – this event has evolved into a vital launchpad for Devon’s independent creators.
Organised by passionate local volunteers and backed by the Devon Film Office, ACED, and Exeter Phoenix, the night offers a rare glimpse into the depth of the county’s artistic community.
The curated line-up spans genres from dance and song to experimental storytelling, offering local directors, writers, and producers a powerful platform, with just one Cornwall interloper, but we’re all creative friends, right?
These unique projects are getting the big-screen treatment they deserve.
The screening is intentionally breaking down the walls between creator and audience. Dedicated Q&A sessions will follow opening up the curtain for a peer into Devon’s indie film scene, the and the night will wrap up with an open social at the hotel bar, designed to spark new collaborations and fuel the county’s growing creative network.
For anyone looking to support the frontline of regional art, this evening is proof that world-class visual imagination is being engineered right here in Devon.
South West Short Film Evening at the Exmouth Film Festival is being held at The Manor Hotel in Exmouth on Thursday 19 November at 7pm. Tickets
