As we’re walking around Dartmoor, or measuring parking bays, introducing producers, or digging into who owns which bit of beach, people sometimes ask us, what is a film office? There’s some confusion about what you and who you are, they say.
To avoid confusion, we asked Filming in England and here’s what they told us.
A Film Office is a not-for-profit service wholly or partly funded by local and/or combined county wide authorities with a dedicated member of staff resourced to support film and TV production of all types proactively and reactively without prejudice. They provide a single point of contact with industry knowledge, building a network within the county wide authority and any subsidiary authorities and the local area, troubleshooting where necessary.
So there you are… if it doesn’t do that, it ain’t a film office. There’s a cast list and our about page says much, plus, in line with business legislation, there’s a company number on our site and correspondence so you can do a deep dive. Check us out and get in touch.
