Malory Towers: Friendship, mischief and midnight feasts in North Devon
If your childhood was spent enthralled by author Enid Blyton’s boarding school adventures at Malory Towers, you will have no doubt welcomed the nostalgia evoked by the recent TV adaptation on CBBC.
Produced by King Bert and starring Ella Bright and Danya Griver across seven charming series (and a Christmas special), the magnificent Hartland Abbey and gardens took the starring role as Malory Towers itself. Not only was the building a fitting home for the mayhem and mishaps of Darrell, Sally and Gwendoline and co, but the tranquil gardens and walks to the crashing waves of nearby beaches and coastline perfectly encapsulated the spirit and adventure of this endearing drama.
The final term may have now ended, but the stories can still be enjoyed on BBC iPlayer.
