The heat and the World Cup combined did little to deter North Devon’s creatives from coming together for a fun and inspiring evening!
It’s been nearly a week since we welcomed North Devon’s creative community to Studio Kind for our first Barnstaple-based event. It was a fantastic evening with a full house, new faces, old friends, great conversations and one lovely dog.
Our aim, as always, was to bring likeminded creatives together, to spark some new ideas and conversations. Thanks to our brilliant speakers, we achieved just that, as they generously offered inspiring insights into how they work and play across screen culture and how North Devon has influenced the projects they deliver. Big thanks to Daniel Willers, John Sellings, Lily Bennett and Alastair Leslie for such wonderful contributions.
The session wrapped up with the chance for guests to mix, network and share their own experiences. There is clearly a big appetite for screen culture to thrive in North Devon and Devon Film Office is excited for what could come next. Watch this space!
We’ll leave you with a few more images and some great feedback, kindly shared:
“You put together a brilliant room—I had some wonderful conversations and ended up connecting with some incredible local creatives.”
“I was thinking during the event how vital spaces like this are for improving the oxygenation of our branch communities here. It did exactly that—breathing fresh energy into our local creative network so we don’t all get stuck in our separate pockets. Thank you so much for putting it on my radar and for championing our local creative industry so beautifully.”
